Veneers
Many times, the demands of cosmetic changes in the
mouth are too great for simple bonding. This is when
porcelain laminate veneers may be used. Porcelain
veneers (sometimes referred to as laminates) can change
an entire smile. Porcelain laminate veneers are quick,
painless, and dramatic. They can change shape, color,
size, and arrangement of teeth or any combination
of these factors. They can be used as an alternative
for orthodontic treatment. The best part about porcelain
laminate veneers is that they can be placed in two
visits. The technique consists of first shaving a
thin layer of outer tooth structure (about the thickness
of an eggshell). An impression is then taken of the
prepared teeth and is sent to a dental laboratory.
In the lab, a ceramist will make very thin porcelain
facings consisting of all the changes in shape, size,
color and teeth arrangement that are needed to have
a great looking smile. At the second visit, the laminates
are bonded onto the prepared teeth with a white light
gun. The bonding material acts as an adhesive for
the laminates. Porcelain laminates are the most popular
technique used for dramatic smile makeovers.

A beautiful smile is definitely an
enviable asset to have. Unfortunately a crooked set
of chipped, yellowed teeth will certainly subtract from
a face no matter how attractive or sensual. Todays
cosmetic dental technology can transform a less than
attractive mouth into a star smile!
Laser
Teeth Whitening
Laser teeth whitening is an in-office
procedure that noticeably brightens teeth. This is great
for people whose teeth are stained from years of drinking
tea, coffee, red wine, or ketchup, or from smoking.
Unfortunately, laser teeth whitening does not usually
work on teeth that have permanent severe tetracycline
stains (veneers for an alternative in this case).
A laser teeth whitening treatment usually
takes an hour to perform. A whitening solution is applied
to the surface of the teeth, and a laser light is directed
at the mouth, activates the accelerator in whitening
gel for working. The laser will activates the solution,
and subsequently brightens the teeth. Patients walk
out with an improved brighter and whiter smile, and
can expect the results to last for 2-3 years.

Dental Implant
An implant is a titanium "root" which can
be placed into the jawbone. Once integrated with your
bone, the implant can be used to support a crown, a
bridge, or secure a complete denture. Dental implants
may be used to to eliminate partial plates and dentures.
Implants have been used successfully for over 30 years
and have a high success rate, and function and feel
like your natural teeth. Dental Implants are now the
standard of care for replacing missing teeth. |
